Screenings

Health screenings are a vital focus of BestHealth®. Committed to helping people identify health concerns early, BestHealth offers free or low-cost screenings on a regular basis (appointment required unless otherwise noted). We also offer free blood pressure checks on a daily basis with no appointment required.

Screenings are held at BestHealth and other locations in the community. To schedule an appointment, please call Health On-Call® at 336-716-2255, or 800-446-2255.

Balance Screening      FULL
6 to 8 pm
Feeling a little unsteady? Worried about falling? If so, have your balance checked in this free screening by WFUBMC physical therapists and get tips for making improvements. Sponsored by WFUBMC Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Services.

Hearing Screening      FULL
4 to 6 pm
Free screening sponsored by the WFUBMC Dept. of Hearing and Speech. Held at CompRehab Plaza, Miller St. For BestHealth members only. Appointment required.

Athletic Footwear Screening      FULL
7 pm
Painless and safe physical activity begins with proper footwear. Come have the therapists from WFUBMC’s Sports Medicine program assess the fit and appropriateness of your footwear and learn what changes could improve your situation. Sponsored by WFUBMC Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Services.

Hand Strength Screening      FULL

Hand therapists from WFUBMC’s Hand Center will test your grip and pinch strength and compare your results to others in your age and size range. Free. Appointment required. Sponsored by WFUBMC Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Services.

FREE Stroke Screening      FULL
2 to 6 pm
Are you at risk of a stroke? Find out with a simple finger stick and a brief risk assessment. Blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose results in only five minutes! Appointment required. For BestHealth members only.

Free Skin Cancer Screening
1 to 4 pm
Physicians from the WFUBMC Department of Dermatology will offer consultation on one suspicious area of your skin that may have you concerned. Appointment required.

Cholesterol Screening

11 am to 2 pm Have your total cholesterol, good cholesterol and glucose checked with a simple finger stick. Results while you wait! FREE to BestHealth members; $25 for non-members.

Free Depression & Anxiety Screenings

10:30 am to 7 pm This free, confidential professional screening can tell you if you suffer from either anxiety and/or depression. Provided by the Mental Health Assoc. in Forsyth County.  Appointment recommended, but walk-ins welcome.

Hearing Screening

4 to 6 pm Free screening sponsored by the WFUBMC Dept. of Hearing and Speech. Held at CompRehab Plaza, 131 Miller St. For BestHealth members only. Appointment required.
